We are happy to announce that SSH Open Cluster’s activities in 2025 will be steered by Chair Darja Fišer (CLARIN ERIC) and Vice-Chair Sally Chambers (DARIAH ERIC). They were elected by the SSHOC Governing Board which is composed of the 6 ERICs CESSDA, CLARIN, DARIAH, ESS, EHRI and SHARE, and 5 ESFRI Projects E-RIHS, GUIDE, GGP, OPERAS and RESILIENCE.

At the start of 2025, the SSHOC Governing Board congratulated the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI), represented by its Director Reto Speck, on its achievement of becoming an ERIC seven years after entering the ESFRI Roadmap, and welcomed a newly appointed Director of SHARE ERIC, David Richter. The reinforced SSHOC Governing Board has adopted the SSHOC Annual Work Plan for 2025, which is organized into three Strategic Pillars that will promote excellence in our research and technical communities and will help to advance the research infrastructure offer for social sciences and humanities research and communities: 1) Sharing Data, Tools and Workflows, 2) Training and Education and 3) Advocacy and Outreach.

As the newly elected coordinators of the SSHOC Governing Board, Fišer and Chambers will serve in 2025 on a voluntary basis, coordinating the SSHOC General Assembly comprising 19 members from research organisations, data archives and funding agencies, with all the research infrastructures´ national nodes. They will also represent the Cluster in communication with external bodies such as the EC, ESFRI, ERIC Forum, and EOSC Association. They will also act as liaisons with the 5 EU Science Clusters project OSCARS, that is consolidating FAIR data management and connecting research communities from all scientific domains to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
