The SHARE documentation website contains an overview of all SHARE documentation files provided to the users in order to facilitate working with data. Apart from the wave-specific questionnaires that are available in each language of participating countries, the SHARE Release Guide contains general information on the SHARE database like naming of variables, missing code scheme, merging modules and/or waves as well as wave-specific information like important questionnaire innovations, methodological advancements and new procedures introduced between waves. The Methodology Volumes elucidate specific methodological aspects of each data collection wave. The purpose of the SHARE Scales Manual is to provide an informative overview of all scales and item groups that are included in SHARE. In order to compare items across different waves easier, we provide the Cross Wave Comparison files to the users. Finally, the SHARE Data & Documentation Tool is a web interface for searching and browsing the SHARE (meta)data.
