The 2020 edition of the CLARIN Annual Conference will be organised as an online event. This year’s edition has been designed to attract a wider audience and get the most out of the innovative options that come with a virtual format, so be prepared for a different experience!

Special Sessions

The event will consist of special sessions and will be enriched with an informal programme to include a panel on AI, language data and the role of RIs, as well as a tech-infused improvised theatre and comedy show including an AI-based chat bot. For those who'd like to have an introduction to CLARIN and learn how we can be helpful to researchers in the SSH domain, we suggest registering for the CLARIN Café: This is CLARIN. How can we help you? which offers a quick overview.  See the full event programme.

Over the coming weeks the regular CLARIN communication channels will be used to keep the community informed. This conference page will always provide the latest details.

Registration

With the virtual format we can accommodate more visitors than ever, and #CLARIN2020 welcomes both the attendees of previous years and all newbies with an interest in getting familiarised with what CLARIN is about.

Please complete this registration form in order to receive all the instructions on how to access the virtual facilities on the days of the event, and other relevant information. You should receive these instructions via email by the end of September.

Note that you should register separately for the Café session "This is CLARIN. How can we help you?".

Registration is free of charge. The deadline for guaranteed* access is 25 September.

*In case of high registration numbers CLARIN needs some time to adjust the capacity of the virtual platform.

About the CLARIN Annual Conference

The CLARIN Annual Conference is the main annual event for those working on the construction and operation of CLARIN across Europe, as well as for representatives of the communities of use in the humanities, and social sciences.

The event is organised in order to exchange ideas and experiences with the CLARIN infrastructure. This includes the design, construction and operation of the CLARIN infrastructure, the data, tools and services that it contains or for which there is a need, its actual use by researchers, its relation to other infrastructures and projects, and the CLARIN Knowledge Sharing Infrastructure.

We welcome the following categories of participants to attend the event:

  • Authors of accepted papers
  • Members of national consortia
  • Representatives of CLARIN centres
  • Representatives from partner organisations
